While working on my New England Voices Google site I had a chance to go onto you-tube to search for an appropriate video to post to the page. I found a marvelous interview with Chris Bohjalian about his newest novel, The Sandcastle Girls that was shown on Armenian television. It was exciting to know how to embed the video to the site. Now my students can view the interview and then blog about what they heard. Having Chris come in to speak to my classes is not an option so having access to these videos is so valuable. I cannot wait to find more things to add to the site to make it a rich tool for my students. I just may have my students create a page for their final project for the class---it will be a project where they will focus on one of 31 current New England authors. I am getting excited just thinking about the possibilities!

ReplyDeleteAny time you come across links like this I would love for you to forward them to me. I could make QR codes and put them inside the cover of the author's books (or if it's title specific, within the one book). I am going to try setting up a book trailers page on my site, but I might expand it to include author talks like these as well.
